Terry Pratchett The Thief of Time

The Thief of Time is a very good book that is written by Terry Pratchett. It is about two boys: Lobsang Ludd and Jerry, the clock maker. The Auditors have commissioned Jerry to build the glass clock. The clock was built once before and it stopped time. The Auditors want to have Time captured in the glass clock again so that the universe will be predictable and organized and they won’t have to worry about anything ever again. Lady LeJean is an order in a human body and is struggling with being human. She tells Jerry to make the glass clock and gives him an Igor to assist him.

The history monks live in a valley, in an area where there are always blossoms on the cherry trees. The history monks fix up time. They can take time away from an area, give time away to people. They can move time. Lu Tze an old sweeper gets Lobsang Ludd as an apprentice. Lu Tze an old, wise respected man and Lobsang is an orphan that was raised by the thieves’ guild. Lobsang has is extremely talented when it comes to dealing with time and does many extrodinary things that would normall take a monk hundreds of years to learn.

Susan is a school teacher at a kindergarten, but she is no ordinary teacher. She is Death’s granddaughter. Susan notices the things that normal people cannot see and the rules of time do not apply to her. She has been told by her grandfather that the world is going to end and that someone like her will be involved.

Now that the glass clock is being rebuilt the monks must try to stop the clock before it stops time. Lu Tze and Lobsang go on a long journey to the city of Ankh Morpork where they think the clock is being rebuilt.
